Mark and Carol Kufner
It is with great sadness that we must report that our second couple's attempt at IVF was unsuccessful. Mark and Carol have not given up yet though. Please join with us and keep them in your thoughts and prayers as they find a way to heal from this and build up the courage to try again. [back to top]

Marc and Connie Nelson
We have selected a third couple to receive a grant. Their names are Marc and Connie Nelson. They have been married for six years and have been trying to have a baby for three years. Marc and Connie live in Millcreek with their two beagles, Chloe and Bailey. Connie learned that her fallopian tubes were abnormal after having a laproscopy procedure done. They have been unsuccessful in their IUI attempts so the next step for them is IVF. Connie underwent IVF in December 2008 and welcomed Brody Randall Nelson on September 9, 2009. We are so happy for them. Be sure to check out Baby Album page for more details! [back to top]

Randy and Jennifer Hotchkiss
Randy and Jennifer Hotchkiss have been trying to conceive a child for the last 4-1/2 years. After going through extensive medical testing and several less intensive fertility treatments, Randy and Jennifer are left with IVF as their "last hope." Both Randy and Jennifer love children, spending many hours a week with their numerous nieces and nephews. Jennifer has made children the focus of her life, working as a pre-school teacher and with an Early Intervention program, but they long for a child of their own. [back to top]

Patrick and Julie Schwindt
It's TWINS for Julie and Patrick Schwindt! Julie and Patrick have been married for 12 years and have attempted to have a family for the last 11+ years. With a history of early menopause in Julie’s family and, after several unsuccessful IUI treatments, IVF was the only option left. Julie went through the IVF cycle in May 2009. We are very happy to announce that they are now expecting "twins" in Feb. 2010. They reside in LeBouef Township with their bull mastiff, Odin. It was a very Merry Christmas for Julie and Patrick -- they welcomed their twins, Gabriel and Grace, on December 26, 2009. Check out our baby page soon for more details! [back to top]

Rob and Janet Thompson
Janet & Rob had a dream to build a family as soon as they were married! After the frustrating diagnosis of unexplained infertility, numerous IUI & multiple IVF procedures, the Thompson’s have not been successful & have decided to put their dream of children on hold until they are able to create a new vision for their future. They thank the foundation, family & friends every day for all of their support. [back to top]

Todd and Melanie Corry
Melanie and Todd Corry have been trying to conceive since April of 2006. They NEVER thought it would be so difficult to start a family. Many years of temping, charting, and unsuccessful IUI’s, have taken a toll on both of them. Early on in their struggle to have a child they had to endure two heartbreaking chemical pregnancies. That did give them some hope that they could become pregnant, however they haven't had any success or indication that they are still somewhat fertile since then....that is until now! UPDATE: Todd and Melanie welcomed Addison Olivia Corry on November 10, 2010. Check out our Baby Album to meet their baby girl. [back to top]

Chad and Emily Ewings
Chad and Emily Ewings began their life together 12 years ago. After dating for only a few short months, Chad was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma. As a result of this, Chad underwent multiple treatments of chemotherapy and radiation ultimately leading to a stem cell transplant. This transplant took place on January 15, 1999 at Johns Hopkins University. Althought the transplant saved his life, it left Chad unable to have children. They have been married for 6 years and are ready to begin their family. Chad and Emily are blessed to be public school teachers which gives them the opportunity to work with and inspire children everyday. They look forward to doing the same with their own children. We are hoping their dream will soon become reality. UPDATE: Chad and Emily welcomed their twins, Maria and Evan, on October 9, 2010.[back to top]

Patrick and Michelle Traphagen
When Michelle and Patrick Traphagen met they found that they shared the same goals to have a family, and the same desire to nurture, teach and share family traditions with their children. After two years of testing and numerous fertility treatments they were given the diagnosis of ‘unexplained infertility”. Refusing to give up, they did their first attempt using IVF in June 2009 but were heartbroken when they received a negative result. Michelle and Patrick know in their heart that they will some day have a child and are hoping that time comes soon. UPDATE: Michelle and Patrick completed their second IVF cycle in October 2009 and were successful! They welcomed their TWIN SONS on June 7, 2010.[back to top]

They have been married for 5 years and have always thought they would be parents. Tina was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, but her health was stable for them to start family planning. After 4 years of trying to conceive, including a miscarriage and several failed IUI attempts, time became more of an issue, especially since Tina has been off her MS medications during this time. With the opportunity given to them by New Blossoms, they are hopeful that their dream of being parents will soon come true. [back to top]

Bryan and Christy Lechner
Bryan and Christy Lechner have been together for 17 years. They reside in Erie with their dog, Rupert. They were married in 2008 and decided to try to have children shortly after getting married. With age being a big factor, Christy went to see a specialist after trying for one year. She was diagnosed with PCOS. After being put on medication, several IUI's and 6 months on clomid they decided to do more testing. They did surgery to try to remove a septum and found that one tube was closed and there was a lot of scar tissue.
